the real bucephalus horse

this is how i picture the real horse Bucephalus. i've done some research in some books and one was written by a author who did alot of research on horse breeds. i notice alot of people like to "arabitize" famous ancient horses and even sometimes mustangs. it really drives me nuts but dont get me wrong, arabs are lovely horses but i wish sometimes folks would really research before thinking every horse out there is some high-bred heavenly arab. bucephalus was actually a small 13-14 hand dark Thessalian or turkemenian horse(i dont know if he was truly black) he looked somewhat like a small pony. if you notice the statues and ingravings of him he was not arab looking at all. but small(remember people back then were short too) short thick necked, stocky torso. i guess hollywood probably got everyone thinking he was fancy LOL
